The Lebo Courier Fri Jun 20, 1890

         Black Diptheria Epidemic
Ponca, Neb., June 11.--Ponca is suffering with
an epidemic of black diptheria. Six or seven
cases have been reported to the board of health
and two death have already occured. Many families
are leaving the city. The mayor has issued a 
proclamation forbidding the holding of public
meetings and confining all children to their home.
