Miss Baker came here a few weeks ago to take charge of one of the departments of the Ponca schools. She taught but a few days and was taken sick and died before the news of her illness could reach her parents, who reside at Irwin, Ia., but who were travelling at the time the news of their daughter's illness was sent to their home. No old friends or relatives were present at her death, and the sad event effects the community. It is expected that relatives will arrive here this evening, and the remains removed to her old home.
