E. Andersen A. E. Andersen was born in Fremont, Nebraska. February 14, 1882, son of Christian S. and Maren J. (Petersen) Andersen. Christian Andersen was born in Denmark. March 28, 1840, and came to the United States in 1861. He was a farmer who served with the First Nebraska Cavalry during the Civil War. He died March 6, 1922. His wife, Maren, was born in Denmark. January 8, 1846, and died January 21, 1902. Mr. Andersen attended the Fremont public schools. and was graduated from Fremont High School in 1900, when he became a grocery clerk. In 1904 he became bookkeeper for Eddy Brothers Department Store, and later became manager and buyer for them, severing his connection in 1917. He 1s now partner in the Brunswick Restaurant, and a director of the Equitable Building and Loan Association. A Republican, Mr. Andersen was defeated for mayor in the Spring of 1917: in January. 1930, he became a member of the City Park Board, serving since that time. He ii a director of the Young Men's Christian Association was vice president one year, and member of the board of managers 15 years. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Ad Club (president 1915-16) and the Rotary Club [president 1930). His fraternal organization is Flks Lodge No. 514. He is a member of the First Baptist Church, and contributor to the Red Cross and Salvation Army. His sports are football and baseball. On August 15, 1904, he was married to Orpha Gertrude Palmer, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Palmer, at Wahoo. Mrs. Andersen was born at Stratton, Nebraska, July 6, 1886, of English and Irish descent. She was a milliner prior to her marriage. There is one son, William Dale, born January 21, 1913, who is a sophomore at Midland College. Residence: Fremont.
