Humlicek Funeral Home, Dodge, Synder, Howells, Ne - Oct. 12, 1979
Funeral services for Catherine Franzlubbers, 78, of Dodge were Friday, Oct. 12 
at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Rev. Hugh Schwartz officiating. Burial 
was in St. Boniface Cemetery. She died in Wednesday in the West Point Nursing 
Home. Pallbearers were grandsons, Alan, Gary, Kenneth, Mark and Thomas 
Franzluebbers and Donald Ernesti. Mrs. Franzluebbers was born April 8, 1901 in 
rural West Point, to Herman and Clara (Maly) Ortmeier and attended St. 
Boniface Catholic School, Monterey. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus 
Catholic Church and Altar Society. On Oct. 1, 1929, at St. Boniface Catholic 
Church, Monterey, she married Ben Franzluebbers. They farmed north of Dodge 
until retiring to town in 1961. He died Nov. 29, 1974. She is survived by five 
sons, Joseph of West Point, Charles and Anthony of Dodge, Wenzel of Beemer, 
Emil of Oakland, two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Gertrude) Ernesti of Dodge and 
Mrs. Melvin (Bernadine) Kampschneider of Bellwood, 30 grandchildren, two great-
grandchildren, one brother, John H. Ortmeier of Oakland, and sisters, Frances 
Franzluebbers of Beemer, Mary Ulrich, Clara Wannad and Ann Herrmann, all of 
West Point, Mrs. Clem (Ida) Peatrowsky and Verna Schneider of Ft. Collins, CO 
and Mrs. Emil (Theresa) Huhman of Columbus. She was preceded in death by 
parents, husband, two daughters, Marie Moser and Mary Ann, a brother Wenzel 
Ortmeier and a sister, Caroline Spenner.
