Humlicek Funeral Home Dodge, Ne Dec. 2, 1974
Funeral services for Ben Franzluebbers, 86, of Dodge, NE were Monday, December 
02, 1974, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Rev. Leo Kuhn officiated and 
burial was at St. Boniface Cemetery at Monterey, NE.
Pallbearers were: Kenny, Tom, and Barney Franzluebbers, Donald Ernesti, Leo 
Grovijohn, and Jim Ortmeier. Mr. Franzluebbers was born November 29, 1888, in 
Delbruck, Westphalia, Germany to Joseph and Josephine (Newkirk) Franzluebbers. 
He came to the United States at the age of 21, residing in Nebraska. He was 
married October 1, 1929, at St. Boniface Church to Catherine Ortmeier. They 
farmed near Monterey till 1960 when they retired and moved to Dodge where they 
lived since. He had been in Valley View Nursing in Pender since September of 
this year. Survivors include his wife Catherine, five sons: Joseph of West 
Point, Charles of Dodge, Wenzel of Beemer, Emil of Oakland, Tony of Dodge. And 
two daughters: Mrs. Richard (Gertrude) Ernesti, Mrs. Melvin (Bernadine) 
Kampschneider of Richland. And twenty-six grandchildren. He was preceded in 
death by his parents, two daughters, Mary Ann, in 1942 and Marie Moser in 
1967, Brother George in Nebraska and two brothers and two sisters in Germany.
