Andersen Charles J. Andersen, president of the Andersen Company, Incorporated, was born at Herslev, Denmark March 13, 1864. He is the son of Soren and Christiane Andersen, the former of Kolding, Denmark, born July 6, 1838. He was a saddlemaker and carriage manufacturer and an officer in the Danish Army. He served in the Danish-German War of 1864. He came to the United States 36 years ago, and died at Omaha on December 7, 1925. His wife, Christiane, was born at Kolding, March 11, 1839, and died at Omaha, January 20, 1913. Mr. Andersen was educated in the public schools of Denmark until he reached the age of 18 years. He was married on June 1, 1924, to Leda Flick. Mrs. Andersen was born at York, Nebraska, and attended the York public and high schools. Since coming to America in 1884 he has been engaged in business in Omaha, from 1884-87 in the carriage business. In 1901 he incorporated under the name of Andersen-Millard Company, and from 1904-29 under the name of Andersen Company. He is now president of Andersen Company, Incorporated. A Republican, Mr. Andersen served in the Nebraska legislature from 1905-07. He wrote and introduced the Omaha city charter and helped pass the Omaha water bill, and introduced and helped pass the label law. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and the Masons.
