Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis with Pastor Beverly Rautenberg-Panko officiating. Burial was in the East Cemetery at Eustis. Visitation was Sunday at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Survivors include a nephew, Clark (Dianne) Laier of Eustis; two nieces, Kim (Mark) Nielsen of Omaha and Jana (Steve) Winquist of Kiron, Iowa; three great- nephews, Kirby Winquist, Tyler Nielsen and Cassidy Laier; three great-nieces, Janina Laier and Breanna and Michaela Nielsen; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Laier of Eustis, Evelyn Parsons of Yuma, Ariz., and Ellen Major of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; two brothers, Duane and Floyd and a sister, Loreen. She was born May 11, 1924 near Eustis to John and Minnie Schaad Laier. She graduated from Eustis High School in 1942. On June 27, 1948, she married Merle D. Major at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Eustis. The couple made their home at Eustis their entire married life.
