Meyers, age 90, of Arapahoe, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at the Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge. Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis with the Rev. Beverly C. Rautenberg-Panko, officiating. Interment will be at the Immanuel Cemetery, north of Arapahoe. Military rites will be given by the American Legion Post #343 of Edison. Survivors include his wife Ethel E. Meyers of Arapahoe; sons, Charles (Kay) Meyers of Red Cloud, Daniel (Julie) Meyers of Kearney; daughters, Linda (David) DeOss of Columbus, Sharol (Gary) Banzhaf of Cozad; daughter-in-law, Florence Rozendal of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.    He is preceded in death by his parents, son Leon Meyers, granddaughter Elizabeth Meyers, daughter-in-law Rita Meyers, sister Leona Imig and infant brother Duane Eugene Meyers. He was born on July 15, 1918 in Gosper County to William H. & Emilie J. (Monter) Meyers. He attended school at the Immanuel Lutheran Parochial school north of Arapahoe. After school he helped his family on the farm. Later he enlisted in the Army. After his service duty, he returned to the family farm. On June 29, 1947 he married Ethel E. Rader at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Eustis. They made their home north of Arapahoe and farmed for many years. They moved to Arapahoe in 1975. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Eustis and the American Legion Post #343 of Edison.
