Dennis E. Monter, age 45, of Arapahoe, died Monday, June 7, 2010 at Cambridge 
Memorial Hospital at Cambridge, following a two vehicle accident south of 
Arapahoe. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity 
Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, with the Revs. James Moshier and Jeff Ernstmeyer 
officiating. 

Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Arapahoe, Nebraska
Viewing and visitation was Friday, June 11, 2010, 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at 
Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to services at the church on 
Saturday.

He was born July 11, 1964 at Lexington, to Glen and DeLilah (Reese) Monter.  
Dennis grew up in the Arapahoe area.  He graduated from Arapahoe High School 
with the Class of 1982.  He graduated from Kearney State Teachers College at 
Kearney in 1986.  Following graduation he started to work for Arapahoe 
Telephone Company in 1986.  He presently was Information Technology Supervisor 
for ATC Communications. He also was active with the Nebraska State Board of 
Communication.  

Dennis was a member of the Izaak Walton group of Arapahoe, taught hunter’s 
safety classes, was a trap shooting coach and was also a member of the Turkey 
Federation. 

He also was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Arapahoe and past president 
of the Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his parents, Glen and DeLilah Monter of Elwood; brothers, 
Douglas Monter of Lexington, Charles (Julie) Monter of Aurora: sister, Shirley 
(Eric) Pierson of San Diego, Calif.; 11 nieces and nephews and two great-
nephews.
