R. Lynn Oliva, age 60, of Arapahoe, died Wednesday, April 9 as a result of a 
truck accident.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at First United 
Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Michael Flury officiating. 

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery 
at Bertrand with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 
13 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Oliva of Arapahoe; mother, Cleota Oliva of 
Stockton, Kan.; one son, Kurt (Susan) Oliva of North Platte; three daughters, 
Kimberly (George) Salpas, Kelly (Emigdio) Cuevas, all of Grand Island and 
Kerry Kinkade and fiancée Troy Larson of Long Pine; one step-son, Chris 
Gretzschel of Gaylord, Kan.; one step-daughter, Marenda Gretzschel of Alma; 
one brother, Richard Oliva of Stockton, Kan.; one sister, Linda (Chuck) 
Williams of Stockton, Kan.; 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet in 1984, his father; 
brother, Kenneth; grandson, Adrian and step-son, Martin.

R. Lynn was born on Jan. 19, 1948 at Stockton, Kan., to William and Cleota 
(Carmichael) Oliva. Lynn grew up in the Stockton area and graduated with the 
class of 1966 from Stockton High School. He served in the National Guard 
following graduation.

On Nov. 10, 1968, he married Janet Holen at Bertrand and worked for Tyson 
Foods in Lexington for 14 years. After Janet passed away in 1984, he married 
Sharon (Hunter) Gretzschel on June 1, 1985.
