  An Omaha Man Killed
   Word reached this city yesterday that Mike Foley,
a stone mason, was killed at Beatrice Wednesday
evening. He was at work on the new Methodist church
at that place, when the scaffolding gave away and
precipitated him to the ground, a distance of forty
feet. He died instantly. Frank McFarland was on
the scaffold, but escaped with a badly mangled foot.
Both men are well known in Omaha. Until recently
Foley occupied quarters in a boarding house on
Harney street, between Tenth and Eleventh streets.
McFarland was raised in Omaha and his widowed
mother and sister reside on Vinton street near
Twenty seventh.
