Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington with Pastor John Shields officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Monday Feb. 28, 2011 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell. Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 from 4 pm until 6 pm at Elwood Funeral Home in Elwood and prior to the service at the church. He was born March 28, 1937 at Gordon to Gail C. and Lennis B. (Secrest) Brown. He married Melba J. Bouldin on June 5, 1967 at Colorado Springs, Colo. They would own and operate Brown’s Used Furniture and Antique’s in Kearney for many years. In 2003, they moved to Elwood and in 2010, he would move to the Golden Living Center, in Cozad. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood. He is survived by his wife, Melba Brown of Elwood; sons, James Brown of Elwood, Bill Brown of Sumner, Tom (Lisa) Brown of Fort Collins, Colo., Jim Brown of Troy, Mo., Gus Brown of Valentine; daughters, Peggy (Dean) Mohrmann of Fremont, Patty Baxter of Fremont, Sharon Arnold of Elwood; brother: Curt (Linda) Brown of Hyannis; sister, Marilyn Sager of Gordon and 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
