Kermit was born Aug. 31, 1919 in Rural Elwood to Louie Henry and Lula A. (Force) Dannehl. The family honored Kermit’s wishes of cremation. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday Feb. 5, 2010 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell. There will be no visitation. Kermit was a retired rural mail carrier of the U. S. Postal Service. He was also a WWII U. S. Army Veteran POW.  He is survived by his wife, Mercedes; sons Jerry (Louise) Dannehl, Lexington, Kurt Dannehl and special friend Colleen, Kearney, Matt (Ann) Dannehl, Omaha, Bill (Nicole) Dannehl, York, Pa.; daughter, Judy Byrns, Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen (Louie) Gengenbach, Lincoln; daughter-in-law: LaDonna Dannehl, Lincoln as well as several nieces and nephews.
