Hilton, age 98, of Elwood, died July 16, 2010 at the Elwood Care Center. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Elwood with Pastor Roger Gillming officiating. Burial will be in the Elwood Cemetery. Visitation for memorial book signatures will be on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Elwood. Anna was born Oct. 4, 1911 at Lexington to Adolph and Henny (Seehusen) Rickertsen. Anne attended Lexington High School where she graduated in 1929. On Feb. 25, 1934, she married Roy Hilton at Lexington. Their union was blessed with six children, Barbara, Dorthy, Carolyn Delores, Bob and Dan. The couple farmed in the rural Lexington and Cozad areas until 1955, when they moved to Elwood. While in Elwood, they owned and operated the Corner Café and Creamery until 1962. It was at this point that Anna and Roy began work with the Elwood Public School System in maintenance. In 1985, Anna retired after over 20 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elwood where she was active with the United Methodist Women. Anna was also a dedicated volunteer with the National Kidney Foundation. She had also served as a 4-H leader in Dawson County for many years. Anna enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery. She was an excellent cook, and would always make big family dinners on Sundays. Her most valued and cherished times were spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her three daughters, Barbara (Bob) Taylor of Springdale, Ark., Dorthy (Harold) Henry of Cozad, Carolyn (Jerry) Brown of Doniphan; two sons, Bob (Jane) Hilton of Elwood, Dan Hilton of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Frida Cline of Gothenburg, Betty (Roy) Clark of Lexington; brother, Bill (Lucille) Rickertsen of Gothenburg; 18 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren with one on the way; 12 great-great grandchildren with two on the way; and a host of other relatives and friends. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Roy in 1996; daughter, Delores Stoll; son-in-law Maynard Stoll; two grandsons, David Taylor and Tom Petersen; one sister and three brothers.
