Susie Irene (Pittenger) Krumme, age 92, of Elwood, died Saturday, June 26, 
2010 at the Elwood Care Center. 

Services were Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Elwood 
with the Rev. Connie Karr.  

Burial was in the Elwood Cemetery.

Visitation was Monday, June 28, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in 
Elwood.  

Susie was born Oct. 4, 1917 on a farm southwest of Elwood to William L. and 
Minnie (Schrotberger) Pittenger.  She attended country school and graduated 
from Elwood High School in 1936.

On Sept. 5, 1940, she was united in marriage with Clifford R. Krumme at 
Elwood.  The couple made their home on the same farm on which Susie was born.  
They continued to live and farm southwest of Elwood until their retirement in 
1979; at that time they made their home in Elwood.  

Throughout her life she enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, dances, card club and 
baking.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Elwood.

Survivors include her daughter, Diana Krumme of Elwood; sister, Dorothy 
Lerdall of Elwood; sister-in-law, Eleonora Storz of Holdrege; nephew, Terry 
(Susie) Lerdall of Elwood; niece, Karen Hayes of Kearney and many other 
nieces, nephews and friends. 

Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; brother, Gordon R. 
Pittenger; sister, Meridith Tilson; nephews, Gordon Pittenger and Dennis 
Lerdall.
