Henry Carl Schilling, 96, of Elwood, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at the Plum 
Creek Care Center in Lexington.

A memorial service will be Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Reynolds-Love 
Funeral home in Lexington with Daryl Wyatt officiating.

It was Henry’s wishes that his body be cremated.  There will be no visitation. 
Inurnment will be held prior to the memorial service in the Elwood Cemetery. 

Henry was born Dec. 13, 1914 to Henry and Wilhelmina (Ubele) Schilling at 
their homestead in Gosper County.  He went to a rural school in Dawson County. 

Henry married Lois Catherine Kolb on March 14, 1936.  The marriage was blessed 
with three sons and two daughters.  

Survivors include two sons, Ron (Joyce) Schilling of Elwood, Jim Schilling of 
Savannah, Mo., six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one nephew, Lon 
Schilling of Wallkill, N.Y.; one niece, Janet Haas of Gothenburg and a 
daughter-in-law, Veleta Schilling of Platte City, Mo. 

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lois in 2005; a daughter 
Nancy Schroeder in 2004; a son Lee Schilling of Platte City, Mo., in February 
2011; a sister, Martha Wolf and her husband John of Eustis; a brother, Fred 
and his wife Mildred of Elwood and an infant daughter, Ruth Ann.
