Mary Rose Watson, age 80, of Elwood, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 at the Elwood 
Care Center in Elwood.

Mary chose to be cremated and a private inurnment will be at a later date.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Wayne) Kelly of Elwood, Linda White of 
Augusta, Ga.; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Danny White, one brother and one 
sister.

She was born on March 2, 1928 at Marlowe, Okla., to Eugene & Stashia 
(O’Donald) Kovar. 

She grew up in Oklahoma and Texas. She married James Watson and later 
divorced. In 1949, she went to school and got her beautician’s license. She 
owned and operated a beauty salon in Canyon, Texas until the mid 1960s. She 
then moved to Jacksonville, Fla., and worked as a bookkeeper for Cross Creek 
Pet Foods. In 1995, she moved to Elwood to be closer to her daughter.
