Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb.18, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Republican City at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Lorri Kentner officiating. Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday, from noon until 8 p.m., with the family present Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church before service time Thursday. Interment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege. Ardith Elaine was born the fourth child of four children to Clyde Shell Sill and Mrs. Pearl Goldie (Bean) Sill on Feb. 16, 1923 in Frontier County near Eustis. Ardith was baptized in the Lutheran faith as an infant and attended schools in Eustis where she graduated with the class of 1940. On June 2, 1941 Miss Ardith Elaine Sill was united in marriage to Victor Henry Puls at Eustis. To this union three children were born, Spencer Alan, Bruce LaMonte, and Victoria Ann. The family resided at Holdrege where Ardie, as everyone came to know her, was employed at the Noble Drug from 1955 until 1967. Victor preceded Ardie in death in 1965. On Jan. 6, 1968 Ardie was united in marriage to John Elton Lutjeharms at the United Methodist Church in Republican City. She had moved to Republican City shortly before their marriage, “Elton” preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1982. Ardie married Russel D. LeDroit on Feb. 29, 1990 at the United Methodist Church in Republican City. She was blessed with five step-children, Dan (Gloria) LeDroit of Kearney, Diane Reiber of Lexington, Debra (Randy) Adams of Cozad, Don LeDroit of Mesa, Ariz., and Douglas LeDroit of Kearney. They made their home in Republican City. Russel and Ardie were happily married for the past 20 years and enjoyed many many activities together with their many friends in the area. Ardie enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, quilting, and sharing her life with Russ. She was an avid Husker fan, and enjoyed wearing her “Husker Red” on game days. In addition to her step-children, Ardie leaves to mourn her passing her loving and devoted husband Russel of their home in Republican City; two sons Spencer (Marilee) Puls of Manhattan, Kan., Bruce (JoAnn) Puls of Salina, Kan.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 10 step- grandchildren; seven step- great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Gladys Sill of Idaho; other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her late husbands, Ardie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lawrence Sill; two sisters Lila (Leonard) Uhlig, Eloris (Clyde, Jr.) Houlden and her daughter, Vicie Puls on Jan.1, 1981.
