Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Page United Methodist Church with the Rev. Costa de Oliveira officiating. Burial will be at the Page Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. She is survived by one son, Fred (Emily) Cronk of Page; two daughters, Linda (Larry) Heiss of O’Neill, Julie (Michael) Straka of Lexington; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank; one sister, Geraldine Kosmicke and her grandson, Frederick Cronk in 2001. Billie was born Aug. 26, 1915, on a farm near Page to Sterling and Bessie (Stewart) Wanser. She attended school in Page and graduated in 1932 from Page High School. She attended Wayne State College for one year and started teaching in rural schools in the Brunswick and Page areas. She later earned a permanent elementary certificate. On June 25, 1939 Billie was united in marriage to Frank Cronk. To this union three children were born. The couple lived on the Cronk homestead east of Page where they farmed for several years before Frank was elected to the Holt County Board of Supervisors and later served as County Judge. After Frank’s death in 1981, Billie continued living in Page until the fall of 2001, when she moved to the Evergreen in O’Neill. During the years that her children were growing up, Billie enjoyed attending their activities, and later her grandchildren’s events. She valued education and instilled the importance of lifelong learning in her children and grandchildren. She was an avid bridge player, playing with the Couples Club, the Bid or Bye Club and Marathon Bridge. Billie enjoyed sewing, baking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and researching and recording family history. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with them. Billie was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Royal Neighbors Lodge, Rebekah Lodge and she served as president of the Page Cemetery Association for several years. She was instrumental in developing a written history of the cemetery. She was also chairman of the Page Centennial Book Committee and devoted many hours to working on the Page history book. She moved to the Golden Living Center in O’Neill in May of 2007.
