He was born in Sweden, September 14, 1868, the son of Gustaf Victor and Mary (Johnson) Anderson, the former a farmer who was born in Sweden, October 31, 1835, and died at Minden, May 23, 1906. He came from Sweden to Swedes-burg, Iowa, about 1868, and returned there about 1871. In 1873, he returned to Nebraska, homesteading where Emil Anderson now resides. His mother was born in Sweden, August 30, 1835, and died at Minden, February 7, 1908. Mr. Anderson is president of the Kearney County Mutual Insurance Company, is president of the Kearney County Co-operative Creamery, is a director and vice president of the Motala Elevator Company, is a director in the Farmers Elevator Company of Minden, and a stockholder and director in the First National Bank of Minden. A Democrat, he served as a member of the Nebraska Legislature, as a member of the house of representatives 1925, 1931, in both regular and special sessions. He is a trustee of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Axtell, Nebraska, is a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, and holds membership in the Nebraskana Society. His marriage to Selma Anderson occurred at Minden, April 19, 1913. Mrs. Anderson was born in Sweden, September 19, 1874. Their son, Carl, was born September 1, 1917, and died September 9, 1917.
