Jose “Joe” V. Torres, 48, of Dodge City, Kan., died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 
Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. 

Memorial Services will be 11 am Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Layton-Craig Funeral 
Home, Minden with the Rev. Rick Torres officiating. 
 
There will be no public viewing; cremation has taken place.

He was born Feb.14, 1963 at Minden, the son of Benigno and Eva Pena Torres.  

He graduated from Minden High School.  

On Sept. 3, 1993 he married Jennifer Paris at Lexington.  She survives. 

Other survivors include a son, Jacob Buchholz, Ferndale, Wash.; a daughter, 
Krista Buchholz, Sioux Falls, S.D.; his father, Benny Torres and his wife, 
Delores of Kearney; four brothers, Benito (Linda) Torres of St. Paul, Minn., 
Tony (Eva) Torres of Minden, the Rev. Rick (Marlene) Torres of Denison, Iowa, 
and Jesse (Daphney) Torres of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Tomasa Fickler, 
Minden and Bea (Roger) Wangler of Holstein and several nephews, nieces and 
great-nephews and nieces. 

He was preceded in death by his mother and two infant brothers, Benigno, Jr., 
and Jose Luis.
