John Albert Aspegren

Since the spring of 1878, John Albert Aspegren has n a resident of Lincoln. He
was born at Osco, Illinois, September 10,1874, the son of Gust and Anna Lovisa
(Erickson) Aspegren. His parents were natives of Sweden, the former born January
31, 1844, and the latter October 16, 1853. The father, who was a farmer, died at
Saronville, Nebraska, May 12, 1930.

John A. Aspegren attended country school and was graduated from Lincoln Normal
University with the degree of B.D. in 1895. On February 4, 1903, he was married
to Lettie C. Benson at Hastings. Mrs. Aspegren is a native of Friend. Three
children were born to this union, two of whom are living: Lillian, born November
18, 1903, married Otto E. Skald; Hugo, born August 1, 1915; and Sandford, born
January 1, 1904, died April 11, 1915.

Since early manhood Mr. Aspegren has been engaged in the lumber and coal
business. He now has extensive interests and is president of the Independent
Lumber and Coal Company of Lincoln, and secretary and treasurer of the Aspegren
and Strand Lumber Company of Saronville, and the Doniphan Lumber Company of
Doniphan, Nebraska. He is a director of all three corporations. An Elk and a
Mason, he is a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Lincoln
Chamber of Commerce. His hobbes are reading and travel. Residence: Lincoln.
