Steven P. Jergensen, 56, of Lincoln, formerly of North Platte, died April 17, 2010 in Lincoln. Steven’s memorial service will be April 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in North Platte. The Revs. Tom Wiles and Gregg Mamula will officiate at the service. The family will be receiving friends at the Dale Jergensen residence in North Platte. He was born Feb. 13, 1954, in North Platte to Dale and Mildred Jergensen. Steven was a 1972 graduate of North Platte High School. He was a missionary with Youth With a Mission in Europe for three years. Steven attended and graduated from Mid-Plains Community College, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and Central Baptist Theological Seminary. On June 28, 1980, Steven married Diane Landberg. Steven pastored at American Baptist and Disciples of Christ churches in Nebraska; Chapman, Olivet Baptist in Omaha, Wilsonville, North Platte, Elwood, and Judson in LaVista as well as Greensburg, Kan. Steven had the heart of a pastor and a strong desire to disciple and teach. Steven loved to travel, tell stories, spend time and visit with friends and family. Steven is survived by his wife of 29 years, Diane; two daughters, Charissa (Matt) Nuttleman and Kirsten Jergensen, all of Lincoln; his father, Dale I. Jergensen of North Platte; two brothers, Michael (Cindy) Jergensen of Curtis and Kent (Kristi) Jergensen, Lexington; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob and Laura Landberg, North Platte; sister-in-laws Deborah (Randy) Wentling of Stamford and Denise (David) Refior of North Platte; brother-in-law Bobby Landberg; three nieces, Kristina, Laura and Emily; nine nephews, Daniel (Vanessa), David, Corey, Caleb, Adam, Pat, Chris, Austin, and Matthew; his granddaughter, River Grace Nuttleman of Lincoln and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and mother, Mildred Swift Jergensen.
