Omaha Daily Bee Thur Jun 17, 1880

           Death of Father Byrne
   The remains of Father Byrne, who recently died at North
Platte, Neb., will arrive in Omaha Saturday. Father Byrne
was well known and highly esteemed in Omaha and Nebraska. 
He was vicar-general of this diocese for many years, and
was appointed adminstrator immediately after the death of
Bishop O'Gorman. His management of the affairs of the
diocese was eminently successful, and won for him the
encomiums of high dignitaries of the church.
   The many devoted friends of Father Byrne in Omaha will
deeply regret his early demise, and beseech the Eternal
Father to grant his immortal spirit peace and rest in the
realms above.

   Father Byrne died at North Platte on Tuesday evening
of last week....
