DIENER Henry J. Diener was born at St. Clair, Pa. July 12, 1863 and died at Lincoln, Nebr. Oct 18, 1921. The family moved to Otoe Co. Nebr. in 1877 and in 1884 Henry came to Lincoln county where he resided continuously until his death. He was united in marriage to Miss Edith Crow on Sept. 22, 1897 and to this union two children were born: Mrs. F. E. Palmer of Sutherland and Gladys of this city. Mr. Diener farmed south of this city until 13 years ago when they moved to North Platte and since then Mr. Diener has conducted a small dairy at the east end of 12th street. His chief interest outside his work and his family was the Odd Fellow lodge of which he was past grand Chief and chairman of the board of trustees. He also was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Caroline Diener, who is 93 years of age, his wife and two daughters, two sisters, Mrs Lizzie Lloyd of North Platte and Mrs Laura Johnson of Pennsylvania and five brothers, L. J. Diener of Mount Grove, MO., E. A. Diener, G. W. Diener and Fred Diener of this county and W. H. Diener of Lewellen. Henry Diener in company with Harry York, George Anderson and E. W. Wright, was making an auto trip to the Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows which met in Lincoln last week. As they were making the Union Pacific crossing near Raymond, Nebr. the car skidded and according to the eye witnesses it turned completely over. Mr. Diener was rushed to Lincoln but died before regaining consciousness. The funeral was held Saturday from the Episcopal church, being conducted by the Odd Fellows, and interment was in North Platte cemetery. The Tribune joins the many friends in extending their heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing relatives over the sudden taking of this good man and citizen.
