C. Patterson, at half past ten o'clock Sunday night. The deceased had been ill but a few days, having contracted a cold Wednesday, which owing to her advanced age, she could not throw off. Saturday morning she became unconscious and remained in that condition until the final summons came. Up to the time of her illness she had good health and was quite active for one of her years. The deceased was born in Ireland April 4, 1818, and had therefore passed her ninetieth year. She was married in Ireland and came to this country with her husband in 1854, locating at Patterson, N. J. Later they resided in Joliet and Chicago, and in 1867 Mr. Patterson came to North Platte to work for the Union Pacific, where two yeas later he was joined by Mrs. Patterson, who had remained in Chicago because there were no available houses at that time in North Platte. Six sons mourn the loss of this pioneer mother, Thos. C., and Clinton L., of this city, Robert of Denver, David of Sapulpa, Okla., William of Albuquerque, and Chochrane now living in Alaska. The father W. J. Patterson, died about eight yeas ago. Funeral services will be held at the Episcopal church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
