Christian Wake Service will be Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. James Golka as celebrant. Interment will follow at the North Platte City Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday and Thursday, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 18, 1924 to Rosalio and Agripina Perez Sanchez in Chicago, Ill. When Joseph was young he and his family moved to Mexico during the depression. When his dad died, he had to work to provide for the family. He married Hermelinda Sanchez on Oct. 16, 1967 in Mexico. The couple moved to Colorado in 1974 and then finally made their home in Hershey. He worked on many different construction projects, including the Gerald Gentleman Station, the McConaughy Dam and worked also with Simon Construction. He and Hermelinda were winter birds and they loved to travel back to Mexico. Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Juana ‘Jenny’ (Joe) Diaz of North Platte, Patricia (Ron) Stewart of Lexington; son, Jose E. ‘Rick’ (Renee) Sanchez of Kearney; granddaughters, Joette (Ariel) Quiroga, JoseLyn Diaz, Billy Jo Diaz, Jessica Diaz, Amaya Stewart; grandsons, Charles Joseph ‘C.J.’ Sanchez, Alex Sanchez, Antonio Stewart, Austyn Stewart; great-grandchildren, Ariel, Alejandro, Adrienna, Alyssa Quiroga; sisters, Albina Olmos, Francisca Cervantez and Maria Godinez; sister-in-law, Sophia Rangel; brother-in-law, Pedro Sanchez and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hermelinda; a sister, Josefina Vasquez and one brother, Isidoro Sanchez.
