They occupy offices in the McDonald Block, where they have one of the finest law libraries in the city. Hon. J. S. Hoagland began the study of law upon his arrival in Nebraska in 1872, and since being admitted to the bar eight years later has been a prominent figure in Nebraska professional and political circles. His first place of residence in the state was at Lincoln, where he served one term as sheriff of Lancaster county. His title of "Hon." was received as the result of a two years attendance at the Legislature as a representative of the republicans of our own district. For the ve3ry good reason that Judge Hoagland was a soldier during the late unpleasantness, his interest in the G. A. R. organization is very deep. He is also a very prominent member of the I.O.O.F. fraternity, having several times been a states representative from Nebraska to the Sovereigh Grand Lodge. Judge Hoagland has had a extensive experience in law practice, including a number of cases in the United States Supreme Court, which involved constitutional questions of national importance. His entire career has been marked with unusual success. Mr. W. V. Hoagland is a son of the senior member of the firm and whose profile is herein shown. He is a graduate of the Nebraska State University's law department. Though a youngman, through his active professional experiencce in the higher courts, in the more important classics of ligitation [sic], Mr. Hoagland has already established a substantial legal reputation throughout the state. Socially, as well as professionally. W. V. Hoagland has no peer among his associates. Thus it will readily be seen that these gentlemen are well prepared to discharge the duties devolving upon them from an immense clientage, and are prepared to conduct cases in all the courts.
