Mrs. Governor believes that the greatest war work for American women is to raise their children properly. And that is why she plans an outing for the Neville girls every bright afternoonn, especially while the city is so full of sick- ness. Mary Nelson is sitting to the right of her mother. Frances Elizabeth is at her left and Virginia Neil is crouched by her knee. Baby Irene Morell occupies the center of attention. Right: The Misses Virginia Neil, Mary Nelson and Frances Elizabeth Neville in one of the "fairy dances" which they staged in the ball room of the Mansion for the benefit of the Red Cross. Below: The "Mansion Baby," Miss Irene Morell Neville, the only child ever born in the house of the chief exec- utive of the state of Nebraska. Miss Irene rides out to the open woods in the Monday clothes basket with all of the dignity befitting the daughter of the governor of a great state. She is three months old and weighs thirteen pounds.
