The parties to the suit were Fannie M. Sloman, who posed at plaintiff, and Samuel A. Sloman, a prominent citizen of Omaha, was defendant. Mrs. Sloman's petition set for the fact that on March 18, 1885, they were married in Omaha. December 18, 1889, is given as the date upon which Mr. Sloman did a very naughty thing, which is alleged to have brought about this very unhappy separation. But as is not uncommon in such cases, there are two sides to this one and thereby hangs a very thrilling tale, the details of which would not look well in a great religious paper. The petition was filed in court near the closing hour, and within an hour afterwards the divorce was granted-- good time even for Lancaster county. The fair plaintiff and Mr. Hellmann were called as witnesses to substantiate the facts set forth, whereupon the defendant admitted his guilt and the divorce was granted..
