Funeral Services were held at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 with Pastors Murray Jones, Doug Reed and Kevin Fore officiating. Interment at the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation was Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Tom of Funk; two daughters, Debi (Bart) Jacobson of Funk, Mindy (Monte) Crum of Walden, Colo.; six grandchildren, Ty, Elizabeth, Caleb, and Jessica Jacobson and Merrit and Makeon Crum; sisters, Donna Jean (Frank) Boggs, Marsha Joye (Lyle) Samuelson, all of Bertrand; brother, Gary Dean (Dawn) Vollmer of Oxford; mother-in-law, Viva Klein of Lexington; brothers-in-law: Larry (Marge) Klein of Fort Lupton, Colo., David Klein of Waco, and Terry (Sandra) Klein of Beaver City and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Lawrence Klein, and nephew, Brian Klein. Marilyn was born March 9, 1943 at Lexington, the eldest of four children of Alfred Ross and Thelma Geraldine (Grant) Vollmer. She received her primary education at Dawson County District No. 21, north of Overton until the eighth grade. She then graduated from Overton High School with the class of 1962. Marilyn then pursued higher education at the Kearney Vocational School of Nursing, where she graduated and received her LPN credentials in 1965. On Nov. 28, 1965, she was united in marriage to Tommy Klein in Lexington and to this union two daughters, Debi and Mindy, were born. Marilyn worked as a nurse at Bethphage/Mosaic in Axtell until the time of her death.
