Spenner, 71, of 5162 Navajo Drive, Columbus, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1991, at Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 10 a.m., Monday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with the Revs. Mel Merwald and Larry Mielak officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. at McKnown Funeral Home and 6 – 6:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Bonaventure Church, and from 8 to 9:30 a. m. Monday at McKown Funeral Home and a wake service at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Bonaventure Church. Spenner was born July 19, 1920, in Procida, Italy, to Antonio and Michelina (DiGovanni) Grasso. She married Arthur J. Spenner on Dec 13, 1956 at St. Michael's Church in Procida, Italy. Before her marriage, she was a professional singer in the radio and recording industries in Italy. Since moving to the United States, she has been a homemaker, mother and singer with the Consonaries, the St. Bonaventure Adult Choir, and the Glory Bound Singers. She also has sung for many weddings, funerals and other special events in Columbus for the last 25 years. She was a past member of the Scotus Mothers Club and a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and the Franciscan Missionary Union. Survivors include her husband of Columbus; three sons, Carl of Indianapolis ID, Anthony "Tony" of Easthampton, MA, and Joseph a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; three daughters, Ann Fean, of Northampton, MA, Trish Baker of Grapevine, TX, and Margaret Minchow of Omaha; two sisters, Theresa Mimmo of North Miami Beach, FL, and Concetta Barra of Naples, Italy, and one grandson.
