He was graduated from high school in Sweden, and after coming to America attended the Barnes School of Embalming at Chicago, graduating in 1904. Anders Anderson, father of Victor, was born in Satra, Sweden, in 1819, and died there on August 18, 1877. He was a farmer. Karin (Person) Anderson, mother of Victor, was born at Satra in 1821, where she died February 23, 1877. In 1888 Mr. Anderson married Emma Wilson, who died in 1903. Four children were born to them, Clara; Edwin, who married Olga Elving and who is associated with his father in business; Albert, who married Amy Peterson and who is now in the Stromsburg store; and Erma who lives at home. On June 22, 1901, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Margareta Samuelson at Stromsburg. She was born there on May 1, 1874, and before her marriage was a nurse. They have four children, Alvina, born April 27, 1905; Carleton, born December 22, 1906; Vernon, born December 22, 1907; and Jeanette, born December 18, 1910. Carleton and Vernon attended the University of Nebraska; while Jeanette is a student at Bethel Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota. A Democrat, Mr. Anderson was a candidate for state senator in 1930 from the 19th senatorial district, but was defeated by a slight majority. A resident of Nebraska since August 28, 1884, he was a farmer from 1886 to 1903 and since that time has been in the furniture and undertaking business. He was mayor of Stromsburg in 1911. Mr. Anderson’s religious affiliation is with the First Baptist Church of which he is vice president. He is treasurer of the Nebraska state conference of the Baptist Church, and has held the office of president in the Commercial Club, the Stromsburg Hotel Company, the Cemetery Association and the Board of Education. He is a member of the Nebraskana Society, and a leader in every movement for the advancement of his city. Residence; Stromsburg.
