Visitation with the family was Friday, Dec. 18, at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Dec.19, at 11:00 a. m. at Christ the King with reception to follow. A private interment will be held. Dr. Hoesing was born in Omaha on Aug. 20, 1941, graduated from Creighton Prep in 1959, attended Creighton University for four years and graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in 1967. He did a one-year rotating internship at Wayne Country General Hospital in Detroit and returned to Omaha for a three-year internal medicine residency at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, serving as chief resident in 1970-1971. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Pam; children, Dr. Keri (Scott) Philpot, Kristen (Michael) O’Brien and J. J. Hoesing and his fiancée, Melanie Trowbridge; grandchildren, Michael, Meghan, Conlan and Patrick O’Brien, Katie, Gracie, and Parker Philpot; sister, Rosemary Mackay and his brothers Richard (Jean) Hoesing and Michael (Debbie) Hoesing. Dr. Hoesing was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Mary Hoesing; sister, Lorrie Hawkins and infant twin sisters.
