Druzzilla M. Malcom, age 91 of Cozad, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at the Good 
Samaritan Hospital at Kearney.

Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Berryman 
Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad.  Burial will be at the Walnut Grove Cemetery, 
north of Cozad. 

Visitation were held on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 
Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.

Druzzilla was born Feb. 21, 1919 at Omaha to Albert and Frances (Whitaker) 
Lawson. She attended Omaha Public Schools. 

Following her education she worked as a secretary in Omaha for a dry-cleaning 
business. She went on to meet her future husband, Alvin, at a Bible Camp.

On Nov. 28, 1942, she married Alvin A. Malcom at Omaha. The couple moved to a 
farm southwest of Callaway in 1944, where they farmed for a number of years. 

Druzzilla served as a bookkeeper for the Seventh Street Market, retiring in 
the late 1980s.   She was a member of the Church of God and the American 
Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Druzzilla is survived by her two sons, Dwayne (Julie) Malcom of Cozad and Doug 
Malcom (Glenda) of Callaway; three daughters, Janese (Galen) Gengenbach, Karen 
Jim) Weinmaster and Debra (Ted) Lindstedt, all of Cozad; 24 grandchildren; 33 
great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild;  a brother-in-law, Paul 
Malcom of Omaha; a sister-in-law, Doris Rowan of Cozad and many other 
relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin in 1993; 2 sons, 
Earnest and Richard Malcom; grandson, Jarod Malcom; great-grandson, Sam and a 
brother, Albert Lawson.
