Carl A. Peters, age 73, of Grand Island, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at the 
Grand Island Veteran’s Home.

Private family services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 with Father 
Don O’Brien officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in the Cozad 
Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Berryman 
Funeral Home in Cozad.

Carl was born July 9, 1937 at Omaha to Wilhelm and Verna (Taylor) Peters.  He 
graduated from Omaha South High School in 1956. 

He is survived by his three daughters, Kelly Peters of Alamogordo, N.M., Amy 
(Diego) Velazquez of Santa Fe, N.M., Lori (Brad) Christner of Cozad; sister, 
Carol (Ted) Svoboda of Bellevue; seven grandchildren, Chase, Claire and Cydney 
Christner and Adrian, Nicholas, Christian and Noah Velazquez and many other 
relatives and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Cassi Christner; wife, Ginny; 
four brothers, William, Joseph, Paul and Jim and two sisters, Alice and Mary.
