Nov 13,1919 Ed. George's father's obit found in Seward Co.,NE. Seward Library, In The Independent-Democrat' newspaper,dated Nov 13,1919..reads ...Robert H. Francis was born January 1, 1858, in La Porte Indiana. At about the age of 21 years he came to Nebraska where he since resided with the exception of a few years residence in Iowa. He departed this life on Nov 8th (1919)in a hospital in Lincoln where he has gone for treatment. Mr. Francis served as a minister for over 15 yrs in the Free Methodist church, out for a number of months has been an invalid. In the year 1885 he was united in marriage to Miss Phoebe Smith and to this union nine children were born, two of them whom died in infancy. Deceased is survived by his wife and 7 of his children, George and Charles Francis, living at Atkinson, NE.; Mrs. Bessie Wagner, Waterloo, Iowa;Mrs. Myrtle Dunham, Anoka, NE.; John, Rosie and Willie, who reside with their mother in Seward. Two brothers and four sisters also survive him as follows: Mrs. Isabel Mathany, Packson, Mich.; Mrs. Ada Martin, Seward; Mrs. L.S. Alexander, Lincoln; Mr. Oliver Francis, Seward; and S.C. Francis, Lincoln. There are also 7 grand-children. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning in the United Brethern church and were conducted by Rev. H.H. Price, pastor of the Congregational church. Interment was had in the Seward cemetery.
