Compiled by Edson C. Dayton, 1931, 96 pages. For private distribution only. This is a thorough piece of research on the Dayton line through which the compiler descends, the chapters on the early history of the family being especially important since Mr. Dayton has cleared up several doubtful and disputed points, placing it on a firm foundation. For each generation a full list of the children is given. The sources used are quoted and sometimes printed in full, giving authority to the work. Perhaps the outstanding feature is the fact that the book is interesting reading. We regret that this publication cannot have a wider circulation.
