JOSHUA BLODGET FAMILY RECORDS Contributed by Alice (Smith) Thompson (Mrs. F. C.) Concord, New Hampshire. The following record* is from a leaf from an old account book which was badly torn. The handwriting is apparently the same as that of the earlier entries in the old Bible just given, and was ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (h) Son of Joshua and Almira (Gay) Blodget. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 38 THE NEBRASKA AND MIDWEST probably that Deacon Alden Blodget. The imperfect records indicate the torn edges and the data in brackets has been supplied from authentic records of the family. November 2 1749 [Jo]shua Blodget and Hannah Alde[n] were married [Hu]ldah Blodget their eldest daughter born June 19 1750 [Joshu]a Blodget their eldest son was b[orn] February 4 1752 Joshua Blodget their second son was born the 2nd. day of October 1753 Abigail Blodget their second daughter was born October 31 1755Ý Joseph Blodget their third son was born May 10 1757 Benjamin Blodget their fourth son was born May 18 1759 Abigail Blodget their third daughter born February 10 1761 Hannah Blodget their fourth daughter was born September 23 1762 Eleanor Blodget their fifth daughter was born June 6 1764ý Olive Blodget their sixth daughter [twin] born March 14 1766 Alden Blodget their fifth son was born March 14 1766 Eli Blodget their sixth son was born August 22 1768 Daniel Blodget their seventh son was born 20th. of July 1770 Ezra Blodget their eighth son was born July 8 1773 Joshua Blodget's bo[rn] January 10 1722 Hannah Blodget's bo[rn] November 17 D 1727 These last two items were most carefully, even beautifully written. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- *This record supplements the account of the family of Joshua5 Blodget (Joshua4 Samuel3-2 Thomas1), which was published in the Nebraska and Midwest Genealogical Record, Vol. II, p. 121, and it also corrects three statements, the birth dates of the fourth and ninth children and the name of the eighth child. In Sept. 1926 Mr. Edwin A. Blodgett, Springfield, Mass., sent the record of this family to May (Bennett) Avery, compiler of the above article, as he had copied it from the records at Stratford, Conn. Disagreements are probably due to errors in copying. ÝMr. Blodgett's copy reads "Oct. 15th, 1756." This is plainly an error in copying. ýMr. Blodgett's copy reads "Sept. 23rd, 1762." This is evidently an error in copying; her older sister was born Sept. 23.
