Mrs. Ogden was cremated. Memorial services were held Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church with Vicar Glenda Pearson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Park Valley Cemetery at Eddyville. Frances was born May 19, 1934, at Cedar Rapids to John and Wilma (Shipley) Ewers. She was raised in Cedar Rapids where she received her education and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1952. Frances moved to Columbus where she worked at Dale Products. On Jan.12, 1958, she was united in marriage to Harold Ogden at Cedar Rapids. The couple resided in Norfolk, Va., while Harold was in the service. He was sent overseas and Frances returned to Cedar Rapids until he returned to the states. For a short time they lived in New Port, R.I., until Harold was sent overseas for a second time. When Harold was discharged in December of 1959 the couple settled in Nebraska. They resided in Stanton for eight years before making their home in Lexington for over 35 years. The couple has made their home in Ord since 1998. Frances worked as a seamstress and especially enjoyed making Barbie doll clothes. She also enjoyed knitting afghans. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Lexington. Survivors include her husband, Harold of Ord; a son, Tom (Kim) Ogden of Papillion; a daughter Vicky (Joe) Hollibaugh of Eddyville; two grandchildren, Amanda and Connor Ogden; a brother, Robert “Bill” Ewers of Oregon and a sister, Bonnie Rutten of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Terry Hollibaugh; and two sisters, Ruth Wather and Joann Kozel.
