He married Jane McCullom by whom he had eight children. Feb. 25, 1822, as he was driving a team, with sled loaded with wood, by some means he stumbled and fell under the sled, and one runner passed over his neck and killed him. His age was 54. His wife died Jan. 19, 1841, aged 67. His children were I. Robert, b. Nov. 17, 1799; m. Harriet, dau. of Apollos Gilmore, by his second wife, by whom he had six children, three of whom are now living in town, (see Ap.) He died Feb. 21, 1861. II. William McCullom, b. Jan. 17, 1801; d. Feb. 27, 1826. III. Eliza, b. Aug. 1802; m. Warren S. Briggs of Keene. IV. Martha, b. Nov. 24, 1804; d. 1814. V. Fanny, b. Jan. 24, 1808; m. Holland D. Fay and had five children. VI. Sophronia, b. June 5, 1810, m. Jedd May, Fitchburg, Mass. VII. Mary Jane, ---. VIII. John, b. Jan. 22, 1815; m. Emily Perkins, of Perkinsville, Vt. He had three children, one of whom survives (See His. of Reb.) BARNETT, GEORGE, brother of the foregoing, was born in 1768. He married Elizabeth Alexander of Londonderry N.H. by whom he had five children. He died Jan. 11, 1818; she d. Apr. 20, 1823. Ch. I. Jane, b. Oct. 13, 1800; m. 1st., Levi Walker, 2d a man by the name of Howe. II. Isaac Alexander, b. Aug. 6, 1802; died at the South. III. Robert, b. Sep. 9th, 1804; m. Julia, daughter of Josiah Bellows. He was for several years engaged in mercantile pursuits, in Boston, in the firm of Grant, Seaver & Co. About 18-his health failed and a year or two before he died he suffered from mental alienation. He left one child, Mary E. who died Apr. 10, 1873, aged 35. IV. Elizabeth Cochran; b. July, 19, 1806; d. unmarried. V. Sarah Ann, b. Oct. 7, 1808.
