Salmon Stone's company, which went in 1777 to take part in the battles of Bennington and Stillwater; the name "James Chandler " is supposed to be intended for "James Chamblen." April 24, 1781, he enlisted for three years, and was a corporal in 9th company, 1st regiment (Cilley's). He died in Dublin Jan. 24, 1826, æt. 86 years. He commanded the Dublin militia company from 1786 to 1793, when the company was divided into two companies.
