He died there, Nov. 28, 1776, only twelve days after the end of his service in the army, which probably caused his death. He signed the "Association Test" at Chesterfield, 1776, and commanded a company in Col. Samuel Ashley's regiment which went to reinforce the "Northern Army," Oct. 21-Nov. 16, 1776.
