EMERSON, MOSES, Dr., came to this town sometime between 1775 and 1780, and settled on the 
Dea. Moses Fisher place. He m. Comfort Eastman and had one son, Jonathan, when he suddenly 
disappeared from town, and nothing more is known of him. Jonathan was born in 1781; m. Lydia 
Crosby, of Dummerston, Vt., b. 1793. He d. March 26, 1861; she d. June 5, 1875. Ch. 1st, 
Caroline F., m. Silas Angier, Nov. 8, 1838; issue, eight ch., five living 2d, Mary Jane, b. 
Feb. 3, 1822; m. William B. Mason, June 2, 1841; issue, two ch., none living. 3d, John Crosby,
b. Oct. 12,1823; m. Oct. 23, 1855, Urana C., dau. of Holland and Susan (Veasey) Mason; issue,
three ch. (See Ap.) 4th, George Eastman, b. Sept. 11, 1825; d Sept. 3,1853. 5th, Sarah Abigail,
b. Feb. 21, 1827; m. William B. Mason; issue, five ch (See Ap.) 6th, Harriet Maria, b. Sept. 25,
1830; m. Charles W. Wyman; issue, six ch., four living.
