He was born in Franklin, Feb. 16, 1781, and married Eunice Ware, born in Needham, Mass., Jan. 18, 1782. He died in Brookfield, Vt., to which place the family had removed in 1835, Dec. 11, 1872; she died at the same place, July 6, 1861. Ch. I. Clarissa, b. in Alstead, N.H., Jan. 16, 1805; m. William Fisher, and d. in Everett, Mass., Nov. 28, 1875. II. Olive Ware, b. in Alstead, Oct.30, 1806; m. Ephraim Prentiss, of this town, and had two ch., Maria and Nancy; both married, and live in Hyde Park, Mass. III. Timothy Ware, b. at Walpole, May 15, 1809; m. and lived in Boston; d. at Hyde Park, Mass., Nov. 28, 1878. He is remembered by the old citizens as the chubby, red-faced boy that began life going from house to house with a small tin trunk in his hand, selling small wares and cleaning old watches. At length he turned up in Boston, as a keeper of livery, and by borrowing small sums of money and always being punctual in payment, he was soon enabled to command any amount of credit he desired, which put him in the way of a enlarging his business, so that he, by good judgment and shrewdness, accumulated money very fast. After accumulating a sufficient sum, he turned private banker, and, it was said at one time, was worth $500,000. How much property he had at the time of his death is not known. IV. Albert, b. at Walpole, July 30, 1812; m. a Goodenough, of Brookfield, and is still living at that place. V. Avery, b. at Walpole, Feb. 2, 1816; m. an Allen, of Brookfield, Vt. VI. George Lawrence, b. at Walpole, Aug. 23, 1818, and lives in Medford, Mass. VII. Ezra Lewis, b. at Walpole, Aug. 14, 1824; d. at Brookfield, Vt., Sept.10, 1866.
