He was a descendant of Daniel Lincoln, who came from Hingham, Eng., in l648, and settled in Hingham, Mass., in the following line of descent: 1st, Daniel, jr., 2d, Joshua, 3d, Joshua, Jr., 4th, Christopher. He lived in town about ten years, and came to his death whence returning from Keene, with others, where he had been as a juryman in a capital case, by being thrown from a wagon, on the hill east of William Arnold’s, Oct. 11, 1880, when he received such injuries that he died the 18th of the same month. He married Eliza, dau. of John Williston, of Boston, Mass., b. Dec. 10, 1785,by whom he had eleven children: I. Christopher C., d. young. II. Samuel W., b. June 12, 1808; resides in Quincy, Mass., unm. III. Eliza A., b. June 16, 1810; d. Dec. 30, 1866. IV. Christopher, 2d, d. young. V. Eleanor, d. young. VI. Mary J., b. June 15, 1815; m. James N. White, of Boston,--issue, two ch. VII. Harriet N., b. Jan. 14, 1818. VIII. George C., b. July 9, 1821; m. first, Miranda Evans, Windsor, Vt.; m. second, Anna Leach, and has six ch. IX. Sarah M., b. April 5, 1823; m. Griffin C. Reynolds, res., Abbington, Mass.,--issue, two ch. X. Charles Sprague, b. April 20, 1826; m. Louisa E. Plimpton, and has five ch. He fitted for college, it is said, after his majority, in nine months, under the instruction of Rev. Ezekiel H. Barstow, and graduated at Harvard College in 1850. He was a teacher before he entered college, and taught awhile after graduating. In the mean time he studied law, and for n period was in the law school at Cambridge. In 1855 he established himself as a lawyer in Boston, where he has been doing a successful business up to the present time (1879). XI. John Bradford, b. Dec. 8, 1828; m. Anna ---; d.
