Thomas and Jehoiada Moore were among the early settlers of Derry Hill. Jehoiada married Lois Baker, Dec. 3, 1797, but did not become a permanent settler. Thomas settled on the place now known as the "Moore farm," about one half mile west of the residence of Lewis Dickey, where he industriously spent his days. He married Elizabeth Duncan and had six children: I. Lettice Cochran, b. Oct. 2, 1793; m. a Nourse. II. Naomi, b. Sep. 14, 1795; m. William Arnold and always lived in town. (See Arnold.) III. Jane, b. June 2, 1797, m. George Bundy of this town; she d. the present year, 1879. (See Bundy.) IV. Polly Pinkerton, b. Nov. 24, 1799, m. David C. Thompson. (See Thompson.) V. Elizabeth, b. Sep. 6, 1801; m. Daniel Whipple jr., and went to Lyndon, Vt. VI. John, b. Oct. 17, 1803; never married, but lived and died in town, Feb. 25, 1848, aged 44. Thomas Moore died, Sep. 1, 1826 aged 63; his wife, Elizabeth, died Aug. 25, 1823, aged 63.
