He lived on the place which was subsequently owned by William Guild, and is now owned by George Jennings, and brought up a numerous family. He represented the town at Exeter in 1776-7, in the most trying times of its history, and was captain of a company in General Bellows’ regiment when he went to Saratoga. He held some office of trust and honor in town yearly for more than twenty years. The oldest citizens in town remember very little about him, and his descendants living, being of the fifth and sixth generations, have treasured up little or nothing worth recording. He was married twice, his first wife’s name being Hannah, and his second, Lucy. Ch. I. Persis, b. April 19, 1769; m. by Andrew French, Esq., to Dr. Stephen Johnson, Dec. 31, 1793. II. Sarah, b.
