FITZGERALD TO DAVIS} Book 27, Page 193 Know all men by these presents That I Edward Fitzjarreld of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough in the Province of New Hampshire in New England Yeoman For and in consideration of twelve pounds lawful money to be paid before the delivery hereof by Samuel Davis of Boscawen in the County and Province aforesaid Yeoman have given granted bargained and sold and do by these presents fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the said Samuel Davis his heirs and assigns forever forty exact and complete acres of land and one half acre lying within the town of Boscawen aforesaid being the northerly side of that [unreadable] acre lot in the town of Boscawen that was laid out in the original right of Richard Hale number and bounded as may more fully appear by the proprietors book of record reference thereto being had. DAVIS TO JARRELD} Book 3, Page 222 Know all Men by these Presents, That I Samuel Davis of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire, Gentleman, for and in consideration of One hundred sixty eight Spanish milled dollars to me in hand paid before the delivery hereof by Edward Jerreld of Boscawen in the County and State aforesaid, Husbandman, have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant, bargain, sell alein, convey & confirm unto the said Edward Jerreld his heirs and assigns forever, Thirty acres of land more or less lying and being in the town of Boscawen aforesaid, being part of that hundred acre lot in said [unreadable] viz.: Beginning at the Northeast corner of the aforesaid lot and running on the land of the said Edward Jarreld to a white beach tree by the intervail: there Northerly across said land which I now own, a parallel line with the head line of said lot till it strikes the Northerly line of said lot; then over said line Easterly to the bound first mentioned. One quarter part of that forty five acre lot that was drawn to the original right of Robert Greenough, said lot lying in Boscawen and numbered two, the bounds of said lot may be known by the proprietors books of records, reference thereto being had. GAREL TO DAVIS} Book 60, Page 203 Know all men by these presents That I Edward Jarreld of Boscawen in the county of Hillsborough and state of New hampshire husbandman for an in consideration of twenty seven pounds lawful money to me paid before the delivery hereof by Nathan Davis of Warner in the county and state aforesaid yeoman have given granted bargained and sold to the said Nathan Davis his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel of land situate in Boscawen aforesaid containing five acres of land being part of that hundred acre lot in said town that was laid out to the original right of Richard Hale bounded as follows viz, beginning at black water river on the westerly side thereof where the same [unreadable] out of said lot then running up said river to the head ofthe great falls so called then to run westerly parallel with the southerly line of said lot so far as a southerly line will contain five acres as aforesaid with the privileges of the water of said river forbuilding mills and erecting dams in such places as shall be convenient within the aforesaid limits saving and reserving to myself my heirs and assigns forever one fourth part of all the water privileges and places for erecting mills and dams as aforesaid and also saving and reserving to myself the liberty of taking the water from the head of the lower pitch of the great falls on the easterly side of said river for the use of erecting a clothiers mill or any other works except a grist mill and sawmill. DAVIS TO GERALD AND AL} Book 74, Page 562 Know all Men by these Presents, That I Oliver Davis of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and state of New Hampshire Trader for and in consideration of the Sum of three hundred sixty Dollars to me in hand, before delivery hereof, well and truly paid by Edward Gerald Jr. and Peletiah Gookin both of Boscawen in said County Husbandmen the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have given, granted, bargained, sold and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey and confirm, unto the said Edward Gerald Jr. and Peletiah Gookin heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land in Warner lying on both sides the main road leading from Warner to Sutton it being the same land which was set off by order of Law to satisfy an execution I recovered against Ephraim Colby late of Warner said land was set off by Richard Bartlett, Maj. Richard Straw and Joseph Currier all of said Warner. Also about seven acres of land lying in said Warner that I purchased of James Hoit late of said Warner lying on the south side of the highway that leads from Warner meeting to Sutton adjoining on land of Isaiah Flanders and land lately owned by James Pattee To Have And to Hold the said granted premises, with all privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to them the said Edward and Peletiah and their heirs and assigns, to them andtheir only proper use and benefit forever. And I the said Oliver Davis and my heirs, executors, and Administrators do hereby covenant, grant and agree, to and with the said Edward and Peletiah and their heirs and assigns, that until the delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the said premises, and am seized and possessed thereof in my own right in fee simple, and have full power and lawful authority to grant and convey the same in manner aforesaid; that he said premises are free and clear of all and every incumbrance whatsoever. GERRIL & AL TO EVANS} Book 76, Page 59 Know all Men by these presents, That we Edward Gerald and Pelatiah Gookin both of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of Newhampshire Husbandmen for the sum of two hundred dollars to me in hand before the delivery hereof well and truly paid by Benjamin Evans of Boscawen in the County and State aforesaid Trader, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have given, granted sold and by these presents have given, granted sold and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey and confirm unto the said Benjamin Evans his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land in Warner laying on both sides the main roads leading from Warner to Sutton it being the same the same land which was set off by order of law to satisfy an Execution which Oliver Davis recovered against Ephraim Colby late of Warner and said land was set off by Richard Bartlett, Richard Straw and Joseph Currier all of said Warner. GERRALD TO DOWNER} Book 78, Page 295 Know all Men by these presents That I Edward Gerrald of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of Newhampshire Gentleman for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand before the delivery hereof well and truly paid by Samuel Downer of Newbury in the County of Essex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Cordwainer, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold and by these presents do give grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Samuel Downer his heirs, and assigns forever, a certain parcel of land situate in Boscawen aforesaid containing twenty seven acres be the same more or less bounded as follows, viz, Beginning at the Southwest corner of the hundred acre lot which was laid out to the original right of Abraham Titcom thence running Northerly by the side line of said lot bout thirty seven rods to a stake and stones thence running easterwardly across said lot parallel with the north end of said lot to a stake and stones thence Southerly by the side of said lot about thirty five rods to the Southeast corner of said lot thence westwardly by the end of said lot to the bound first mentioned the number and bounds of said lot may be known by the proprietors Book of Records reference thereto being had. GERRIL AND GOOKIN TO WEBSTER} Book 75, Page 486 Know all men by these Presents, That we Edward Gerald Jr. of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of Newhampshire Yeoman and Pelatiah Gookin of said Boscawen Clothier for and in consideration of the sum of Two thousand dollars to us in hand, before delivery hereof, well and truly paid by Daniel Webster of Portsmouth in the County of Rockingham Esquire the Receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have given, granted bargained, sold and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey, and Confirm, unto the Said Daniel Webster his heirs and assigns, forever, four certain parcels of Land situated in Boscawen aforesaid containing about one and a half acres, more or less. One of said pieces, containing One acre formerly owned by Samuel Gookin and deed by him to Oliver Davis April 18, 1798 for Metes and bounds Reference is had to said DEED said land lieth on Corser hill so called; one other Piece of land lying on Corser hill so called being on the land which Oliver Davis purchase of Samuel Corser by his DEED dated the first of April 1795 for metes and bounds Reference is had to said ..... One other piece of Land adjoining the piece last mentioned which said Davis purchased of Samuel Gookin as by said Gookin DEED dated July 20th 1745, for metes and bounds, reference is had to said Deed Also one other piece of land, adjoining the last mentioned, which said Davis purchased of Samuel Corser, as by said Corser's deed, dated in 1802 together with all the buildings on the above Premises being the lands and tenements lately owned or possessed by Oliver Davis also all Our Right and title to a certain potash situated near the above premises To Have and to Hold the said granted premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging, to him the said Daniel Webster and his heirs and assigns to him and their only proper use and benefit forever. And we the said Edward & Pelatiah and our heirs Executors, and administrators, do hereby covenant, grant, and agree, to and with the said Daniel Webster and his heirs and assigns that until the delivery hereof we are the lawful owner of the said premises, and are seized and possessed thereof in our own right in fee simple, and have full power and lawful authority to grant and convey the same in manner aforesaid; that the said premises are free and clear of all and every incumbrance whatsoever; and that we and our heirs, Executors, and Administrators, shall and will Warrant the Same to him the said Daniel Webster and his heirs and assigns, against the Lawful claims and Demands of any person or persons whomsoever --- PROVIDED nevertheless that if the said Edward and Pelatiah their Executors or Administrators pay to the said Daniel Eighteen hundred and Seventy three Dollars, twenty nine cents & interest according to two certain notes by them subscribed, one bearing date October 10, 1807 for Nine hundred thirty six dollars, sixty four cents payable in nine months from the date thereof with interest the other of even date and sum, payable in Eleven months from the date thereof with interest. Then this Deed is to be null and void otherwise in full force and virtue. GERALD TO GAGE} Book 101 Pages 271-2 Know all men by these presents, That I Edward Gerrald of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and the State of New Hampshire Gentlemen for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred fifty Dollars to me in hand before the delivery hereof well and truly paid by William Gage of the same Boscawen Clothier the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge having given granted bargain sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said William Gage and his heirs and assigns forever A certain fulling Mill with the tenter barn situate barn in said Boscawen standing near Chandlers Mills so called in said Boscawen meaning to convey said premises in my capacity as Administrator to the Estate of Richard Kimball late of Boscawen deceased and also one other Mill or landing Mecheon Building. GERREL TO MORSE} Book 101, Page 558 Know all men by these presents, That I Edward Gerril of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of Newhampshire Gentleman for and in consideration of thirty three Dollars to me in hand before the delivery hereof well and truly paid by Samuel Morse of Boscawen aforesaid Yeoman the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Samuel Morse and heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land situate in said Boscawen containing thirty three acres be the same more or less it being the northerly part of the forty five acre lot that was laid out to the original right of William Moody it being all the lot except twelve acres to be measured of the south end of said lot said lot is number four in the ninth Range and bounded as may more fully be known by the Proprietors book of Record Reference thereunto being had. GERRALD TO GOOKIN} Book 127, Page 551 Know all men by the Presents, That I Edward Garrald of Boscawen in the county of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire Gentleman for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars to me in hand before the delivery hereof well and truly paid by Pellatiah Gookin of Boscawen in the State and county aforesaid Clothier The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold and by these Presents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Pelatiah Gookin and his heirs and assigns forever two pieces of land situate in said Boscawen and State and County aforesaid being a part of the hundred acre lot laid and drawn to the original right of Richard Hale and bounded as follows viz Beginning on the Easterly side of Blackwater River on the easterly side of the road near Sweatts Mill dam there running north five degrees East five rods and a half to a stake thence running South fifty seven degrees East to the easterly branch of said river thence northerly by the said river to the first mentioned bound and reserving all the land between the first mentioned line and toad for the use of the public to contain about three square rods of land also one other piece of land to begin ten rods from the river on the Easterly side of the road thence running Northerly eight rods by the road thence easterly aright from the road five rods thence Southerly a parallel line with the road eight rods thence Westerly to where we began To Have and To Hold the said granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said Pelatiah Gookin and his heirs and assigns to him and their only proper use and benefit forever And I the said Edward Gerrald and my heirs executors and administrators do hereby covenant grant and agree to and with the said Pelatiah Gookin and his heirs and assigns that until the delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the said premises and am seized and possessed thereof in my own right in fee simple and have full power and lawful authority to grant and convey the same in manner aforesaid and that the said premises are free and clear of all and every Incumbrance whatsoever. The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Simeon and his heirs and assigns forever A certain piece of land situate in Boscawen aforesaid containing two acres and twenty six rods being part of the forty five acre lot drawn to the right of William Moody and his bounded as follows viz beginning at the northwest corner of said lot thence running Southerly on the end of the lot twelve rods thence easterly on the Southerly line thirty six rods thence northerly seven rods to the river thence westerly by the river to the bound first mentioned. To Have and To Hold the said granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said Simeon and his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use and benefit forever. GERALD TO GERALD} Book 119, Page 106-7 Know all Men by these presents That I Edward Gerrald of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of Newhampshire Gentleman for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred dollars to me in hand before the delivery hereof, paid by David Gerrald of the same Boscawen Gentleman have remised, released and forever quit claimed, and by these presents do remise, release, and forever quitclaim unto said David his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract of land situate in Boscawen aforesaid containing forty nine acres be the same more or less it being part of the hundred acre lot belonging to the right of Richard Hale, and is bounded as follows viz, beginning at a stake & stones standing by Blackwater bridge thence running northerly by the road until it strikes Thomas Gerrald's land, thence westwardly parallel with the north line of the lot until it strikes the west line by the river thence down the river to the bound just mentioned supposed to be about thirty nine acres on the east side of the River also a piece of land on the west side of the river beginning at a stake and stones standing near the new bridge thence running westerly to the west line of the lot such a course as to contain ten acres by measure between said line and the River to Have and to HOLD the said remised premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to him the said David ... heirs and assigns forever - and I do hereby covenant with the said David that I will warrant and defend the said premises to him the said David ... heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons claiming by, from or under me, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventeen. GERALD TO GERALD} Book 130, Pages 343-44 Know all men by these presents That I Edward Gerrald of Boscawen in the county of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire Gentleman for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to me in hand before the delivery hereof paid by John Gerald of the same Boscawen husbandman and have remised, released and forever quitclaimed and by these presents, do remise, release and forever quitclaim unto the said John Gerrald his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece of land situate in Boscawen aforesaid containing about fifty acres more or less it being part of the hundred acre lot belonging to the right of Richard Hale and is bounded as follows viz Beginning at the stake and stones standing on the east line of the lot about forty rods from the northeast corner of the lot thence southerly on the line to the southeast corner of said lot thence westwardly carrying the same breadth until it strikes the road which runs from Corser hill to Sweatt mills, reserving several pieces of land which I sold to Isaac Sweatt and Peletiah Gookin forthem and their heirs forever Also I reserve a privilege for each of my other sons to make bricks in the brick yard whenever they shall have occasion but they shall have no power to sell or convey their right to any other person. To have and to hold the said remised premises with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to him the said John heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby covenant with the said John that I will warrant and defend the said premises to him the said John heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons claiming by or from or under ...
