She taught school many years in California, where she was living with her husband, Mr. James T. Jones. Several years since she was widely known by her contributions in the old school readers under the name of "Nettie Vernon." She was a most estimable woman, and besides her husband left two sons and one daughter. She belonged to the Baptist church at Nashua, and was a member of Webster Commandery, U. 0. G. C.
